I
love the childlike qualities of clay - the fact I can cut, squeeze,
squash, print in and paint on this fabulous medium. I make sculptural
pieces based on the nautical theme having been influenced by my
time living by the Essex coast. I work with a Limoges earthenware
which I high fire to 1150 and use oxides and matt underglazes to
emphasize the weathered effect. Individually made and named, each
piece has a character of its own. Living now in the rural French
countryside there are many new influences and ideas to develop.
