Katherine Reekie
Alongside her fine art, (see under Prints & Paintings) Katherine also produces vibrant enamel jewellery.
Enamel is essentially coloured glass, ground to a powder and arranged on a metal base. Extreme heat is applied and the enamel melts, flows and fuses to the surface in a smooth coating.
The bonding of these materials ensures a glorious formation of colour, texture and pattern.
Katherine works with copper as her base metal and all her pieces are hand cut, handmade and unique. She creates colourful abstract items in the form of earrings, brooches, pendants and cufflinks. Continuously developing her skills, she enjoys trying out new ideas and techniques, and as a result produces a variety of gorgeous pieces for sale.
